What 풦 means
풦 is one syllable block, not a complete Korean word. Hangul words are written by packing consonants and vowels into syllable blocks. The component letters are called Jamo: here, ᄑ starts the block, ᅯ is the vowel, and ᆹ is the final consonant pair.
Before Hangul, writing Korean with Chinese characters was difficult. Hangul appeared in Buddhist and Confucian texts and practical writing before 1894; it became Korea's official script in 1894 and lost that status under Japanese rule in 1910.
