What 렒 means
Its meaning comes from the Korean word containing it. It is Hangul text, not an emoji. Hangul arranges Korean jamo into syllable blocks; 렒 joins initial ㄹ, vowel ㅔ and final cluster ㄻ.
Hangul took shape in 1443 as an alphabet for Korean speech. Its 1446 guide, Hunminjeongeum, explained the system. The square block layout was influenced by Chinese writing; Hangul spells syllables with jamo. Older names included Eonmun (“vernacular writing”) and Gukmun (“national writing”); Hangul was used around 1913.
Fonts can shift or resize jamo in the block.
