What 룬 means
룬 is Korean text for “rune.” Hangul arranges a starting consonant, a vowel, and sometimes an ending consonant into a block; 룬 is one such syllable, not a runic letter.
Runic letters had straight strokes suited to carving on wood and other objects; some inscriptions marked owners or makers. A runic inscription on the Vimose comb is dated around 160 CE. In Old English, an early form of English, riddles also used runes as cryptic clues.

1Why does 룬 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
