What 룭 means
It is a Hangul syllable block. “runj” is the Unicode name’s label for its jamo sequence: jamo are the consonant and vowel letters that build Hangul syllables. It is not a Korean word or translation. In Korean writing, the surrounding word and sentence carry the meaning.
If someone sends 룭 alone, read it as a text character and ask for context before guessing at a tone. The block by itself does not establish what they intend.
How do I type 룭?
Use a Korean 2-set keyboard. Type fnsw: f enters ㄹ, n enters ㅜ, then s + w form the final ㄴ + ㅈ. The input method joins those jamo into 룭; enable Korean input composition if they stay separate.
Hangul syllables group letters into blocks
Hangul was created as a writing system for Korean in the 1443–1446 period. Each written syllable groups an initial consonant, a vowel and, when present, a final consonant. Unicode’s composition rules preserve that structure in precomposed blocks such as 룭.
Neutral Korean text: a font draws 룭 as a text character.
If it arrives alone, ask for context before reading a mood into it.
Questions people ask
1Can 룭 look different in different fonts?
Yes. The active text font supplies its outline, so the curves can vary; a font without Hangul coverage may show a replacement box.
