What 뤼 means
It is one Korean syllable; the word around it supplies the meaning.
뤼 combines the initial consonant ㄹ with the vowel ㅟ and has no final consonant. In ordinary Korean text, the surrounding word or name gives it meaning; an isolated block does not tell you which word it belongs to.
Before Hangul, Korean writing systems such as 이두, 구결, and 향찰 adapted Chinese characters to write Korean. King Sejong devised Hangul in 1443, first called 훈민정음 (“The Proper Sounds for the Instruction of the People”). In 1446, a book with that title explained the script’s purpose and design. Early publications included Buddhist texts; Hangul later appeared in Confucian and practical works.
How do I type 뤼?
Type ㄹ, then ㅟ, in a Korean IME.
A Korean input method editor (IME) joins those keyboard letters into one syllable as you type. Some IMEs also accept Latin-key spelling: enter rwi if yours does.
Why does 뤼 look different across fonts?
Fonts change the drawing, not the syllable.
Unicode can store 뤼 as one precomposed syllable or as the equivalent sequence of Hangul jamo. A supporting display groups that sequence into one block, but fonts vary in the components’ shape, size, and placement.
Neutral in Korean spelling and transcription; it has no built-in playful or rude tone.
A lone 뤼 is not a complete reaction; ask which word or name it came from.

1Why does 뤼 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
