What 럘 means
On standard Dubeolsik, type F, ShiftO, then F.
With the Korean input method active, those keys enter ㄹ ㅒ ㄹ, and the input method combines them into 럘.
What does 럘 mean by itself?
By itself, 럘 has no fixed word meaning.
It is a Hangul syllable block made from a beginning consonant, a vowel, and an ending consonant. Korean text around it supplies any word-level meaning, so a message containing only 럘 does not give a clear shared reaction.
Hangul, first called Hunminjeongeum, was devised by King Sejong in 1443 as an easier way to write Korean. Earlier writers adapted Chinese characters in Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal—systems for recording Korean with Chinese characters. A book also called Hunminjeongeum explained the script's purpose and design in 1446. In the Joseon period, Hangul appeared in Buddhist books, everyday writing, women's letters, and vernacular novels; the 1894 reform brought it into official documents. Those are shifts in the writing system's public role, not meanings of this one block.
Neutral as a Hangul text syllable; its word-level role comes from Korean context.

Questions people ask
1Why does 럘 sometimes appear as separate pieces?
It can happen when text uses decomposed jamo: an app or font may show the three pieces separately instead of shaping one block. The pieces still represent 럘's components.
