What 륳 means
It is a Hangul spelling block made from three Korean letters. In Hangul, a jamo is an individual letter that combines with others inside a syllable block. 륳 combines ㄹ as its initial consonant, ㅠ as its vowel and ㅎ as its final consonant; its role is as a piece of spelling in the surrounding Korean word.
Hangul was completed in 1443; the 1446 Hunminjeongeum, a guide introducing the script, explained how it worked. It was designed to give Korean speakers a more accessible way to write their language than established Chinese-character-based practices. Hangul later appeared in religious, practical, everyday and official writing.

Unicode normalization can encode the same spelling either as a precomposed syllable or as separate jamo, the letters that form it. NFD uses the separate letters; NFC recombines them into one block.
