What 색 means
Color is its everyday sense.
It forms words such as 빨간색 (red), 청색 (blue), 녹색 (green), and 갈색 (brown); 색깔 and 색상 also mean color. In Korean, 色 is read as 색.
행색 means appearance, 미색 beauty, and 색정 or 호색 sexual desire. Buddhist 색즉시공 (“form is emptiness”) uses 색 for visible form.
Bare 색 is neutral; 살색 (“skin color”) can make one tone sound universal.
For a skin-tone label, prefer 살구색: after a 2002 equality recommendation, the standard name changed from 살색 to 살구색 in 2005.

Questions people ask
1Why does 색 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
