What 싽 means
It is a Korean syllable built from initial, vowel and final parts.
Hangul appears in surviving records by late 1443; a book explaining the writing system, Hunminjeongeum, followed in 1446. Hangul was designed to make Korean writing and learning more accessible, and it also helped record Chinese pronunciations. It developed alongside Hanja, the Chinese characters used in Korean writing, before becoming Korea’s main writing system. Phags-pa, a script used in the Mongol world, has been proposed as an influence on Hangul’s design; the connection is not settled.
