What 쌋 means
Its role depends on the Korean word it appears in. The block combines the initial consonant ㅆ, the vowel ㅏ, and the final consonant ㅅ.
Hangul was developed to write Korean by arranging consonant and vowel letters into syllable blocks. The first recorded mention of 훈민정음 is dated 1443; an explanatory book with that title was published in 1446. Modern Korean spelling followed a unified proposal in 1933 and was partly revised in 1988; early Hangul also included letters no longer common today. These dates describe the writing system's history, not the origin of 쌋.
How do I type 쌋?
Use a Korean IME to combine ㅆ, ㅏ, and ㅅ. An IME, or input method editor, combines these Hangul letters—called jamo—into 쌋. A romanized layout such as Keyman's Korean RR accepts ssas; press Space to commit the block.
If the letters remain separate, commit the pending syllable with Space or punctuation before continuing.
Neutral as written Korean; the surrounding words and sentence set the tone.

Questions people ask
1Why does 쌋 look different in different fonts?
It can. Korean fonts draw the same Hangul syllable in different styles; a font without this character may show a box or fallback glyph. That changes its appearance, not its identity.
