What 탬 means
It gives you one syllable, not a clear message by itself.
“Taem” is the romanized spelling, and the Korean reading is roughly “tem.” A single 탬 does not tell you which word or name is intended; look to the surrounding Korean text.
The syllable is assembled from the jamo (Korean letter units) ㅌ, ㅐ, and ㅁ: an initial consonant, a vowel, and a final consonant.
How are Hangul syllables formed?
Each block groups the letter units for one spoken syllable.
Hangul arranges an initial consonant, a vowel, and sometimes a final consonant into one compact block. In 탬, ㅌ ㅐ ㅁ make that pattern.
The Hangul design is explained in Hunminjeongeum, a Korean text about the alphabet. A record of the text dates to 1443, and an explanatory book was published in 1446. Hangul was designed to make Korean easier to write than relying on Chinese characters.
Neutral as a character; its tone comes from the Korean word, name, or sentence around it.
A one-character message does not reveal a reaction; check the Korean text or name around it.
