What 퇄 means
퇄 is a Korean syllable sound; the word around it supplies meaning. The romanized spelling twal is a pronunciation guide: start with a t and a puff of air, say wa, and finish with l. In Hangul jamo, its parts are ㅌ (initial consonant), ㅘ (vowel), and ㄹ (final consonant).
King Sejong devised Hangul in 1443. In 1446, the book Hunminjeongeum explained the new script’s purpose and design. Before Hangul, Korean writers adapted Chinese characters through systems such as Idu, Gugyeol, and Hyangchal to write Korean speech. Those systems were harder to learn and use than an alphabet designed for Korean.
How do I type 퇄?
Use a Korean IME and enter the components in order. On Dubeolsik, the keys map to ㅌ, then ㅘ, then ㄹ; the input method combines them into 퇄.
If the block does not form, check that Korean input is active and that your IME combines Hangul jamo. Other keyboard layouts may assign different keys.

1Why does 퇄 sometimes look separated?
Yes, an app with incomplete Hangul shaping may show the underlying jamo separately. Font-dependent shaping can also change their proportions and placement without changing the character.
