What 턮 means
It is one syllable, not a complete word.
A Hangul block groups Jamo (Korean letter parts) into one syllable: 턮 combines ᄐ, ᅤ and ᇁ.
Hangul’s design began in 1443; the 1446 Hunminjeongeum book explained the script’s purpose and principles. It aimed to make Korean writing easier to learn than Chinese characters, and later appeared in Buddhist and Confucian works, manuals, private letters and official records.
Why can 턮 appear in two Unicode forms?
Normalization can expand the block into Jamo.
NFC (composed form) stores 턮 as one character; NFD (decomposed form) stores 턮. Both can display as the same syllable.

Questions people ask
1Why does 턮 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
