What 턌 means
On the standard Dubeolsik layout, type x, i, then Shift+T.
The Korean input method maps those keys to ㅌ, ㅑ and ㅆ, then combines them into 턌. Another keyboard layout may use a different sequence.
What does 턌 mean?
As of 2026-09-13, 턌 has no standalone word meaning established in Korean.
Hangul groups consonant and vowel letters, called jamo, into syllable blocks. 턌 combines initial ㅌ, vowel ㅑ, and final ㅆ; its canonical decomposition is ᄐ ᅣ ᆻ. Hangul was created in 1443, and its guide was published in 1446 as Hunminjeongeum. In the fifteenth century, the script was designed to make Korean writing easier to learn than the Chinese-character writing then used in formal contexts.
Why can 턌 appear as separate letters?
A text font draws 턌; emoji artwork does not.
The decomposed jamo sequence 턌 may appear as separate letters in software that does not shape Hangul; it represents the same syllable structure as the single block 턌.
