What ֧ means
Place it after the Hebrew letter it accents.
Darga is a combining cantillation mark, so enter the Hebrew letter first in a Unicode-aware editor. If your keyboard has no cantillation key, use the editor's character-insertion tool.
If it floats or shifts, check the full letter-plus-mark sequence and use a font with Hebrew combining-mark support; the mark alone cannot show where it attaches.
What does Darga mean?
It links its word into the next phrase of a Hebrew Bible verse.
The Darga trope is a Hebrew cantillation mark: these signs, also called te'amim, show phrasing and guide sung reading. In the Tiberian system of biblical accents, Darga can precede the accent Tevir or serve as a connecting accent before Revia. Its role depends on neighboring accents: before Tevir, a longer span uses Darga where a shorter one uses Mercha; it also serves Mercha Kefula.
Sources from the Talmudic period describe oral, tuneful Scripture reading. Written accent systems developed in Babylonian and Palestinian communities; Tiberian notation emerged in the ninth-tenth century and became dominant. Across regional traditions, readers use the same written signs with different melodies.
A technical mark for Hebrew biblical text and liturgical reading.
