What ֚ means
It marks a phrase break in Biblical Hebrew cantillation.
The Tiberian tradition places Yetiv before its word as a disjunctive accent, marking a phrase break. It may replace Pashta when first-syllable stress has no preceding conjunctive accent.
Babylonian, Palestinian, and Tiberian systems used different marks; Tiberian prevailed. Full Hebrew vocalization systems developed in the seventh and eighth centuries. The Aleppo Codex, a Tiberian Hebrew Bible manuscript, dates to c. 930. Yetiv needs a Hebrew letter; fonts and nearby vowel points affect its placement.
Technical notation for marked Biblical Hebrew, not everyday prose.
A lone Yetiv is a reading mark, not a Hebrew word.
