What 𘯌 means
The codepoint name identifies the sign, not its historical reading.
Khitan small script uses whole-word signs and sound signs; a sign’s role comes from its place in a cluster or inscription.
How do Khitan word clusters work?
Sound signs form word-sized blocks.
Read signs left-to-right, then top-to-bottom. Alternate block shapes are stylistic, not different readings; historical columns run top-to-bottom and right-to-left.
Texts survive chiefly in elite tomb epitaphs. After Liao fell, Khitan writing continued under Jin rule; the Jurchen people adapted its models for their own script.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘯌 show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 13.0 (2020), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
