What 𘲚 means
It is one sound-bearing piece in a Khitan word spelling.
Khitan Small Script developed around 925 to write Khitan; its earliest known dated text is from 1053. A 2009 reconstruction spells the Yelü clan name as 𘬜𘭪𘲚𘱪 (ei.ra.u.ud), with 𘲚 romanized as u.
Some characters stand for words and others for sounds; sound clusters run in vertical columns. Its shapes drew on Chinese writing, and its sounds on Uyghur writing. It was used during the Liao, Qara Khitai, and Jin periods; Jurchen writing later adapted Khitan models. The 2025 Unicode Standard describes it as partly deciphered.
