What 𖿤 means
It tells text software how to place the cluster.
Khitan Small Script writes the Khitan language. Words often use groups of signs that represent sounds, read left to right then top to bottom. Most groups start with two signs side by side, which software lays out by default. The less common Khitan Type B cluster starts with one centered sign; 𖿤 follows it to signal that layout.
Traditionally dated to about 925, the script was used during the Liao dynasty, the Qara Khitai empire, and the Jin dynasty. Its earliest securely dated surviving inscription is from 1051. The script was said to draw inspiration from the Uyghur script, a writing system for the Uyghur language, though the two show few similarities. Type A and Type B are layout choices, not different word meanings.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𖿤 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
