What 𑊴 means
It is Khudawadi’s independent letter for the U vowel. It stands for the vowel on its own; a different sign marks U when it is attached to a consonant.
Khudawadi developed from the Landa script tradition and is related to Sharada. An 1843 account describes a “Khuda Wadi” character already in use.
Sindhi merchants used Khudawadi for accounts and correspondence. In the 1860s, a standardized form became a basis for education and administration; Arabic-based writing became official in the late 19th century.
