What ⟜ means

What does ⟜ mean?
Its reading depends on the notation around it. In left multimap notation, ⟜ belongs to a family of signs for relations that can associate one input with a set of possible outputs; this is called a multivalued map. The notation appears in control theory, economics, game theory, and convex analysis.
The BQN ⟜ operator has a separate role in BQN, an array-programming language for working with lists and grids of values: “bind” supplies a fixed value on a function’s right side, while “after” first applies one function and then passes that result to another. These are BQN rules, not a general meaning shared by every multimap notation.
Formal and technical; its reading depends on the mathematical or programming notation around it.
A font without ⟜ may show a box; right-to-left layout can mirror its appearance.

1Why does ⟜ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
