What ᰬ means
It changes the consonant’s vowel to e.
Standalone e uses ᰣ followed by ᰬ. In text order, the sign follows its base but is positioned below it; a font without Lepcha support may misplace it.
Lepcha writing adapts Tibetan script, turning vertical columns into horizontal lines. Accounts credit its creation to either Chakdor Namgyal or Thikúng Mensalóng. Lazóng, a Lepcha primer, teaches letter values; Lepcha texts bring together local religious traditions and Tibetan Buddhism.

Questions people ask
1Why does ᰬ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Lepcha block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
