What 𖼇 means
It marks the initial f consonant in A-Hmao.
That first consonant is called the onset. In Pollard Miao, 𖼇 writes that onset; separate vowel and tone elements complete the syllable. The script took shape in 1904–05, when Samuel Pollard worked with A-Hmao speakers to develop writing for their language. Its design drew on Latin letter variants, English shorthand, Miao pictographs, and Cree syllabics, a system whose signs can represent whole syllables.
A stable spelling supported a New Testament published in 1936. A revised spelling system was finalized in 1988, with a different way to mark tones—the pitch patterns that help distinguish words. Later, the script was used for songs, stories, bilingual materials, and textbooks, as well as several Miao, Yi, and Lisu languages.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
