What 𑙒 means
Modi was used for fast administrative writing. It developed from the Nagari script family and served especially for Marathi correspondence, revenue records, land documents and trade accounts. Balbodh, a form of Devanagari, served literary and sacred writing.
Printing favored Balbodh in the nineteenth century. Modi was formally discontinued in the 1950s, when Devanagari became standard for Marathi.
Precise in Modi writing; specialized outside that script.
For a general audience, the familiar 2 is clearer.
