What ᵏ means

It marks a brief k sound in UPA.

UPA, also called Finno-Ugric transcription (FUT), records fine speech details in Uralic languages such as Finnish and Hungarian. Finnish linguist Eemil Nestor Setälä first published the system in 1901.

UPA superscript letters mark very short sounds. Other transcription systems can give the raised k a different reading.

Specialist phonetic notation; its raised placement changes the reading.

Is ᵏ an IPA symbol? It has no universal IPA reading; follow the transcription system.
