What 𑑙 means
It writes the number nine.
Newa script, also called Nepal Lipi or Prachalit, is used for Nepal Bhasa. It descends from Brahmi, an ancient South Asian script, through the northern Gupta script. Newa is related to Devanagari and has affinities with Bengali and Tirhuta scripts. The earliest recorded use is a 908 CE manuscript of the Buddhist Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra. Newa appears in inscriptions, on coins, and in manuscripts and books. Use declined after Gorkha rule began in 1769; the Rana government’s ban on the Newa language and script, imposed in 1905, was lifted in 1951.
