What 𛆊 means
It is linked with “three” and read song44 in Jiangyong.
Nüshu adapted Chinese-character forms to local Jiangyong speech. Many women had little access to schooling in Chinese characters. They used it for poems, songs, biographies, and letters between close friends who pledged sisterhood; brides also received friends’ letters three days after marriage. The earliest known artifact is a bronze coin found in Nanjing, minted during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a Chinese rebel state (1851–1864); a Hunan county survey from 1933 is the earliest documentary record. Its origins remain disputed.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛆊 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Nushu block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
