Its reference reading is fai44 in Jiangyong speech.

How did women use Nüshu?
Women in Jiangyong used Nüshu for local speech. Adapted from Han characters, its syllabic signs carried songs, letters and “third-day missives,” wedding poems from sworn sisters to brides; many women could not write Chinese characters.
The earliest known Nüshu artifact is a Taiping Heavenly Kingdom coin (1851–1864), inscribed “women are one family.” In 2006, China listed Nüshu as intangible cultural heritage, opening this local writing tradition to public preservation and study.
