What 𛇅 means
It carries a sound, not a translated word.
The Latin letters show an approximate local sound; the final digits mark tone. Nüshu readings vary by place and time, so this is a documented common pronunciation, not a universal one.
Why did women use Nüshu?
It let local women write their speech and lives.
With less access to formal schooling, rural women used Nüshu to write local speech. Its forms draw on Chinese characters, but the script's exact beginnings remain debated.
In traditional Nüshu practice, women wrote letters to sworn sisters (lifelong friends), life stories and songs. A sanzhaoshu (“third-day letter”) was a wedding gift given to a bride three days after marriage. The earliest written account, a 1931 Hunan survey, describes women singing from Nüshu-written fans. A bronze coin attributed to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a 19th-century rebel state (1851–1864), may be earlier evidence.

1Why does 𛇅 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
