What 𛇡 means
It is the Nüshu sign read YE42. The letters and digits transcribe local Chinese speech from Jiangyong, Hunan, China, and mark its tone. Context picks which same-sounding word is meant; Han-character knowledge alone cannot read Nüshu.
Why did women write Nüshu?
It let rural women write local speech. Many had little access to standard written Chinese; Nüshu adapted Han forms for local syllabic writing. Women wrote letters to sworn sisters—women bonded as chosen kin—along with songs, life stories and wedding wishes. In 2006, China listed Nüshu as intangible cultural heritage, a tradition selected for preservation.

1Why does 𛇡 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
