What 𛇦 means
It records a syllable, not a complete idea.
soe5 is the local reading in Latin letters. Nüshu writes Jiangyong's local Chinese speech syllable by syllable; some sounds match several words, so context distinguishes them.
Nüshu carried women's songs and letters
Nüshu is a women's script drawn from Chinese characters but mainly writes sounds. Jiangyong women used it for letters, songs, and small poem-and-song booklets given to brides by friends three days after the wedding.
A coin attributed to the Taiping rebellion (1851–1864) is cited as Nüshu's earliest artifact, but its authenticity is disputed. The earliest printed notice is an early-1930s Hunan survey. China added Nüshu customs to its national cultural-heritage list in 2006.

1Why does 𛇦 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
