What 𛇺 means
Context supplies the word.
Women in Jiangyong developed Nüshu when many had little chance to learn Chinese characters. Its shapes draw on Chinese characters but mainly record speech sounds. Women taught it to one another and wrote poems, life stories, letters between women who pledged sisterhood, and a booklet given to the bride three days after her wedding.
The oldest known artifact is a Taiping-era coin (1851–1864); the first documentary record is a 1933 county survey. Since 2003, workshops in Jiangyong have helped new learners study Nüshu as heritage.

𛇺\1B1FAWhy is 𛇺 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
