What 𛈎 means
It writes a local sound, not a fixed word.
Its Jiangyong reading is teng42; a Nüshu sign can cover same-sounding words, so surrounding words decide which one is meant.
Jiangyong women used Nüshu (“women’s writing”) for poems, songs and letters; a cloth booklet passed from a sworn sister to a bride at marriage. It grew from Chinese-character forms. Scholars cite 1931 as the earliest written account, not its origin; from the 1980s, research and heritage work brought it wider public notice.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛈎 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
