What 𛈍 means
It records a local speech sound. The pronunciation label iang13 identifies the syllable; surrounding text supplies the word.
Historically, Jiangyong women adapted Chinese character forms for local speech because many could not read standard characters. They used Nüshu for poems, letters between women who pledged sisterhood and wedding books of good wishes given to brides three days after marriage. A legend credits Hu Yuxiu, a Song-dynasty palace concubine, with inventing it; this remains unverified. The earliest known artifact is a coin from China's Taiping rebellion (1851–1864); eight signs say women everywhere are one family. Accounts date to 1931 and 1933. Workshops began in 2003; China listed Nüshu as national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛈍 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Nushu block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
