What 𛈭 means
It marks phw21 in Jiangyong’s local Chinese speech.
Chinese characters such as 譬, 佩, 迫 and 配 share this local sound; surrounding Nüshu text picks the intended word. Nüshu adapts Chinese characters into slanted syllable signs. In traditional Jiangyong use, women wrote letters, songs, laments, prayers and wedding booklets called san chao shu (三朝書, “third-day books”), given to brides on the third day after marriage; many had little access to formal Chinese-character literacy.
Scholarship identifies a 1931 county survey as the earliest written account. An 1850s coin offered as earlier evidence has disputed authenticity. Wider study and preservation followed Nüshu’s rediscovery in 1982.

1Why does 𛈭 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
