What 𛊟 means
It records the Jiangyong-dialect syllable tsiou33.
Nüshu is a syllabic script for Jiangyong speech. A syllable can represent several words, so this character has no fixed translation alone. If it displays as a box, the font lacks its glyph.
How did Nüshu become women’s writing?
It adapted Chinese-character forms to write Jiangyong speech.
Traditionally, women wrote songs, poems, life stories and letters between sworn sisters—friends who pledged lifelong bonds—plus third-day wedding messages.
The earliest written description dates to 1931. A bronze coin once presented as the earliest Nüshu artifact has a disputed Taiping-era attribution (1851–1864). Researchers brought Nüshu into wider view in 1982; it later became a preservation focus.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛊟 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
