What 𛋙 means
It records a local spoken syllable, not one fixed word. Unicode lists cyu33 as its common reading, not a translation. Nüshu signs draw on Chinese character forms but mostly stand for local syllables; one sign can represent different words with the same sound, so the full sentence supplies the meaning.
Historically, Nüshu (“women’s writing”) let Jiangyong women write their local speech when many had not learned standard Chinese characters. They used it for songs and life stories, plus sanzhaoshu (“third-day books”), wedding wishes given to a bride by her sworn sisters three days after the ceremony. By the late twentieth century, few fluent writers remained, and preservation became part of the script’s story.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𛋙 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
