What ᱒ means
It means two in an Ol Chiki number. In that script's decimal numerals, it works like 2 in the familiar 0–9 set.
When was Ol Chiki created?
Raghunath Murmu devised Ol Chiki in 1925.
His book Hor Sereng appeared in 1936; he demonstrated the script in 1939. Ol Chiki was designed for Santali's sounds, after Santali had been written in Roman, Bengali, Odia, and Devanagari scripts. Regional projects also developed scripts for Sora and Ho. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Murmu promoted it as a project to unite Santali speakers. In 2026, India's president called it a symbol of Santal identity.
