What 𐒷 means
Add an Osage keyboard to enter 𐒷.
A keyboard enters text; a font with Osage glyphs draws the letters on screen. They do separate jobs.
What does 𐒷 write in Osage?
It writes the Osage E vowel.
𐒷 is used inside Osage words. The Latin-letter spelling ke means “turtle” and shows the E vowel in a word.
An early written Osage source is dated circa 1851. Latin-based spellings later served Bible translation, language documentation, and study, but no shared standard existed. When the Osage Nation began a language program in 2004, students’ English letter-sound habits could interfere with learning Osage pronunciation. A practical script made from modified or fused Latin shapes was designed by 2006; revisions agreed in 2014 set the shared alphabet.

1Why does 𐒷 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
