What ㈬ means
It marks Wednesday in Japanese weekday notation. 水 means water and, in this system, pairs with the planet Mercury.
Japan received the weekday system through the Sukuyō calendar, a Buddhist almanac for star-based divination; tradition credits monk Kūkai with bringing it from China. Its use is inferred by 919; a surviving 998 calendar shows weekday marks. Kyoto almanacs list them from 1672, chiefly for choosing auspicious days. Japan adopted the solar calendar in 1873; a 1876 rule set Sunday rest and Saturday half-days, while older public rest cycles persisted.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
