What 🕭 means
There is no standard keyboard key for 🕭.
In Wingdings, % displays that font’s bell only while the font is applied; in other fonts, % stays a percent sign. This legacy-font mapping does not enter 🕭 as a portable Unicode character.
What does 🕭 mean?
It reads as a ringing bell: an alert, summons, or signal to notice.
Bells long predate this text symbol. A Chinese clapper bell from about 1800–1600 BCE was attached to a horse harness or dog collar. In ancient Greece, bells signaled offerings or guards and served as amulets in protective rituals.
A literal, text-like bell cue.
Some fonts lack 🕭; use words for an alert the recipient must see.
Drift: A 2017 Unicode proposal requested emoji status for 🕭 so its monochrome form could pair more naturally with 🔔.
