What Ⅱ means
Roman numerals record amounts and order items. Their forms developed from numeral marks used by Italic peoples and Etruscans in ancient Italy; one scholarly account traces them to altered Etruscan tally marks. They appear in Roman documents and in medieval writing in Latin.
Unicode compatibility normalization can turn Ⅱ into two Latin capital I letters, II. Use Ⅱ for a single numeral glyph; II works better for plain-text search and exchange.
