Text symbol

What ࠷ means

It marks a sentence for melodic reading. Samaritan qitsa divides Torah text; this form tells readers to chant the marked sentence.

The Samaritan script preserves an older Hebrew form called Paleo-Hebrew. Qitsa's section breaks parallel the open and closed divisions in the Masoretic Pentateuch, a Jewish textual tradition of the Torah.

Specialist Samaritan punctuation for a chant cue.

It is not a generic full stop.
