Text symbol

What 𖫁 means

It was designed for Tangsa writing. Lakhum Mossang began the script in 1990 for his own Muishvung variety. A 2003 inventory and a handwritten song manuscript from around 2005 record its early form and use in teaching.

The alphabet has no historical descent from existing scripts. In 2019, added letters widened its coverage to sounds in other Tangsa varieties.

Questions people ask

1

Could an old Tangsa font change how 𖫁 looks?

Yes. Around 2012, an early Tangsa font assigned the script’s characters to Unicode’s Private Use Area, a range without shared official character meanings. Text saved there may need that font to show the intended glyph.
