What 𖪠 means
It marks /k/, not a whole syllable.
The next vowel letter supplies the vowel and tone.
Is this the only Tangsa writing system?
No; Tangsa communities use several writing options.
Lakhum Mossang created this script for his Muishvung variety in 1990. It remained handwritten until font development began around 2012; the first printed material appeared at the Pangsau Pass festival in January 2020.
A traditional Tangsa story says Rangfraa, a creator figure, gave the ancestors writing on deer hide, which they ate and lost; this story is distinct from Mossang’s alphabet. Tangsa spans varieties in India and Myanmar. By 2020, some communities also used Roman-based spellings; Tangsa Khimhun is a separate script linked to Rangfraa faith.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𖪠 show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 14.0 (2021), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
