What 𖪅 means
It marks tone 3, not a second sound.
𖪅 is the Muishvung “u” vowel, roughly like English “oo” in “food.” Other Tangsa varieties realize tones differently. The full vowel letter follows the opening consonant in a syllable. Reverend Gam Win’s Latin-based spelling uses c for tone 3.
Lakhum Mossang created this independent alphabet in 1990 for Tangsa languages in India and Myanmar, first for Muishvung. Handwritten examples included songs and a prayer to show how writing could preserve culture. Font work began around 2012; a community committee formed in 2019 and promoted it at the Pangsau Pass Festival in January 2020.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𖪅 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
