What 𘢌 means
It is a component used to analyze complete Tangut characters.
The Tangut script was created to write the Tangut language and was in use by 1036. It was modeled on Chinese writing, but the two are separate scripts. By the mid-12th century, a dictionary called the Sea of Characters analyzed characters built from shared components.
A scholarly component index by Nishida labels it the “Tangut person radical.” Here, “radical” is a lookup label, not a word or fixed definition. In complete Tangut characters, it can appear in different positions and contribute through meaning or sound; the full character determines its role.
Scholarly and archival: this names a Tangut component, not an everyday word for a person.
Some fonts make 𗢨 look identical; it is still a distinct Tangut ideograph meaning “human/person.”
