Tangut Component 175

175/768

𘢮 labels an analysis part used to index Tangut characters, not a standalone word. Tangut writing, also called the Xixia script, was the writing system of Western Xia.

Text symbol

What 𘢮 means

It is a numbered analysis part.

Tangut components help scholars index complete characters. “175” is an inventory number, not a sound or translation; numbering varies between component systems. Tangut writing is distinct from Chinese writing.

In 1036, Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao announced the script for state-building and Buddhist texts. Later Tangut books included Chinese classics and military works. Its design drew on Chinese and Khitan writing precedents.

It reads as scholarly notation or a font test, not ordinary Tangut text.

175 is an index, not a pronunciation.

Questions people ask

Why does 𘢮 show as a box?

Usually, the font lacks Tangut support. An app may show a box, replacement code, or blank space; this fallback does not change the character.
