What 𘤈 means
It is a component, not a word by itself. It helps describe full Tangut characters.
Components do structural work
The Western Xia (Xixia) ruler ordered Yeli Renrong to create Tangut writing in 1036, modeled on Chinese writing. It served state correspondence and carried Chinese classics and Buddhist scriptures.
By the mid-12th century, Sea of Characters, a Tangut rhyming dictionary, analyzed characters through shared components. Unicode uses components in Ideographic Description Sequences, a notation for showing how full characters are built.
Why does 𘤈 show as a box?
The font may lack this glyph. A missing-character box means the selected font cannot display it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘤈 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
