What 𘤛 means
Enter hexadecimal value 1891B in an app’s Unicode-entry prompt.
The prompt must accept hexadecimal code points; exact keystrokes depend on the app.
If the glyph appears as a box, the font may not cover Tangut Components.
What does 𘤛 mean?
It is a structural Tangut component, not a translated word.
Components are reusable pieces within complete Tangut characters. Scholars use them to describe how characters are built and to index them in dictionaries; a component does not have to carry a word meaning or a sound.
An analysis published in 2018 of Homonyms, a Tangut book printed from carved wooden blocks, records 𘤛 at the top of 𘁐. A copy surfaced at auction in 2014; that analysis did not establish the book’s original date or where it came from.
Why does 𘤛 look like Chinese writing?
Tangut writing followed a Chinese model but records a different language.
Around 1036, Western Xia authorities commissioned the Tangut script to write their language and translate Buddhist and Chinese works. It also expressed a literary identity distinct from Song China.
Technical and archival: it fits Tangut study, dictionary indexing, and digital descriptions of complete Tangut characters.
If 𘤛 appears as a box, the font may lack Tangut Components coverage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘤛 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut Components block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
